Final Class Day

I've had a wonderful time teaching SAT prep for Kaplan here in Manhattan. I received a wonderful location - Kaplan Manhattan Midtown - to teach. The building is like a school in itself with lots of classrooms and tons of exam prep happening: SAT, ACT, PSAT, LSAT, MCAT, USLME etc. The environment is pretty cool.

But most of all I like working with my students! I'll miss this group. Tomorrow is my last day of teaching with this cohort, and I'm ready to send them off to do well on test day. I'm currently preparing to teach the ACT prep class in the coming weeks.

I'll keep you posted!

Ignatius Center Profile

Before I left SCU, I was invited to create a Student Profile for the Ignatius Center. I owe the Ignatius Center a lot for my spiritual and professional growth while I was at Santa Clara.

Reflections on My Health Care Ethics Internship

Reflections

I had the opportunity to film a short interview with the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University before I moved out here to New York City. We talked about what the internship meant to me and some of my learning outcomes.

Here is a short clip of what's to come!

Congratulations Brandon!

Admittance to the New York State Bar

Congratulations to my wonderful boyfriend, Brandon Young, on his admittance to the New York State Bar! I had the opportunity to attend the ceremony, which was hosted at the New York State Appellate Court - and wow is that place bougie! The courthouse has chandeliers and hand painted murals; not to mention everything is gold encrusted.

The crowd was interesting too. The individuals I was sitting with in the audience were friends and family of the new inductees, and I really felt like I was among the who's who of New York City's upper crust. The ceremony was short, but I feel like the incredible environment and location made up for the speedy event.

Most of all, I enjoyed seeing Brandon during the middle of the day - a rare treat for me! I am so proud of him! Apparently today (the first day as an "Admitted" attorney) he was assigned to work in a department only admitted attorneys are allowed to work in. In sum, it sounds like his supervisors find him to be very capable, and they trust him to do a good job!

Good luck today Brandon! I love you, and I'm proud of you!
